Welcome to The Owl’s Perch, a professional learning community dedicated to supporting new and preservice teachers on their journey. Our core mission is to invest in Gen Z educators to help them effectively engage their Gen Alpha students. However, any new teacher in search of ways to grow and for ideas for the classroom is welcome at The Owl’s Perch.
Recognizing that newly hired teachers often turn to mentors for support with new skills , The Owl’s Perch provides a safe and collaborative space to connect with veteran educators. Our community offers guidance, tips, and support on a wide variety of topics, including instruction, advocacy, and classroom management.
The goal is to provide what you need when you need it for your own professional learning and growth. This is a space to ask questions, share experiences, and gain the wisdom and perspective necessary to build a thriving and successful career in the classroom.
How to Join
The Owl’s Perch uses the platform Pumble for its connecting of educators and mentors. Once you fill out the information form, I will send you an invite to the space.
Pumble works similarly to Slack with channels you may post in. For a complete set of tutorials exploring Pumble, check out their YouTube Playlist.
