I am a dedicated and passionate educator with extensive experience in instructional technology and leadership. My purpose is to empower others, as I believe in the potential of every individual to learn, grow, and use their voice. I am committed to supporting others in achieving success, believing this positively impacts the future of students and society as a whole.
Currently, I serve as a Professional Learning Coordinator at Irving ISD. In this role, I support novice educators, collaborate on professional learning opportunities, and design both in-person and online sessions incorporating instructional best practices. Prior to this, I was an Instructional Technology Coordinator at Ferris ISD from December 2021 to June 2024, where I coordinated the selection and evaluation of instructional technology, maintained software databases, and provided staff development. From July 2015 to December 2021, I worked as a Support Specialist for the iTeam (Instructional Technology) at Richardson Independent School District, providing new hire training, supporting campuses with classroom technology, and developing district-wide professional learning. I also have over a decade of experience as a High School English Language Arts & Reading Teacher.
A strong advocate for technology integration in education, I possesses expertise across various platforms, including PC Windows, Google Chromebooks, and Apple Macbooks and iPads. I am a Google for Education Champion – Trainer and Innovator, and hold certifications as a Wakelet Ambassador, Genial.ly Ambassador, and Apple Teacher. I love sharing ideas and resources, and enjoy supporting others in achieving their goals.
I am also deeply involved with the TCEA, serving as the Area 10 Director from 2021 to 2024, and holding Seat 2 on the TCEA Board of Directors starting in 2024. In these roles, I advocate for the needs of over 80,000 members world wide and support various in-person and virtual events covering topics such as classroom instruction, leadership, digital learning, and educational technology trends.
Academically, I hold a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University, completed in 2023. My dissertation focused on the skills PK-12 North Texas teachers believe are necessary for successful online teaching and learning. I also earned a Master of Liberal Arts from Southern Methodist University in 2010 and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2003. I am a lifelong learner who believes an educator is also a learner for life, drawn to technology because of its constant evolution and learning opportunities.
